Lymphatic Massage Before a Wedding or Event in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara hosts a lot of weddings, photo shoots and big weekends. If you want to look and feel less puffy for yours, lymphatic drainage is one of the most popular ways to prep. Here's how to time it.

What it will and won't do

Brazilian lymphatic drainage moves retained fluid out of the tissue. You'll likely look less puffy, feel lighter, and see a flatter midsection and more defined jawline, and clothes can fit differently for a few days. That's fluid moving, not fat loss. Anyone promising permanent inch loss from lymphatic work is overselling it.

How to time your sessions

One session the day before helps, but a short series works better. Most people book two to three sessions in the ten days before the event:

  • About 10 days out: Face & Body (90 min) to get a baseline.

  • About 5 days out: Body (60 min).

  • 1–2 days out: Face (45 min) for jawline and under-eye definition, finished with LED light therapy.

Don't book your first-ever session the morning of. You'll need the bathroom a lot for the rest of the day, and some people feel a little tired that evening.

Make it last

Drink water, go easy on salt and alcohol in the days before, and keep moving — a walk on the beach counts. Long flights in for a destination wedding make swelling worse, so a Body session a day or two after you land helps.
