Red light therapy
Every facial session finishes with red light therapy, included at no extra charge — you don't need to request it. You lie still under the panel for the last stretch of the appointment while the tissue warms. The red and near-infrared wavelengths support collagen production and calm inflammation, and they land at the point in the session when circulation is already elevated from the drainage work. Comparable red light elsewhere in Santa Barbara runs about $25 as an add-on, or $35 to $50 for a standalone session.
What to expect
Forty-five minutes. The pressure is lighter than almost anyone expects — if it feels like a massage, it isn't lymphatic work. You'll usually see the difference in the mirror before you leave, and it settles further over the next day or two.
Results are temporary by design. This moves fluid; it doesn't change your face. Clients who like the effect tend to rebook every two to four weeks, or a day or two before an event.

Before you book
Manual lymphatic drainage isn't appropriate during an active infection or fever, with a known or suspected blood clot, with congestive heart failure or kidney disease, with sudden unexplained swelling, after lymph node removal, or during active cancer treatment. How often should I get one?
Every two to four weeks if you like the effect, or in the few days before an event. There's no benefit to more frequent sessions in a healthy lymphatic system.
Is it the same as gua sha or a face massage?
No. Gua sha is a tool technique that works fascia and muscle. Lymphatic drainage is much lighter and targets the fluid layer just under the skin, following the direction the lymphatic vessels actually run.
Can I get one after filler or Botox?
Ask your injector first. Most ask you to wait — commonly around two weeks — before any facial manipulation. We'll go by whatever they tell you.
Will it help acne or skin texture?
Not directly. Lymphatic drainage moves fluid; it isn't a treatment for the skin itself. Some clients find their skin looks clearer simply because the tissue underneath is less congested, but if skin texture is your goal, see an esthetician.
