Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage in Santa Barbara
Schwartz Lymphatic Sculpt brings Brazilian lymphatic drainage to Santa Barbara — a light, rhythmic technique that moves stagnant fluid toward the lymph nodes so your body can clear it naturally. Sessions are performed by a licensed massage therapist at our State Street studio, serving Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito and the surrounding areas.
What is Brazilian lymphatic drainage?
Brazilian lymphatic drainage is a specific style of manual lymphatic work. Where a deep tissue or sports massage works into muscle, this technique stays light and fast-paced, following the direction your lymphatic system already drains. There is no deep pressure and nothing to brace against, and most people find it relaxing rather than intense.
The Brazilian method is known for its brisk, rhythmic sequencing and for treating the whole drainage pathway rather than one isolated area. Because it works with your body's own circulation, results build with consistency rather than force.
Who Brazilian lymphatic drainage helps
Post-surgical recovery, including swelling after cosmetic or orthopedic procedures, with your surgeon's clearance
Postpartum recovery
Bloating, puffiness and water retention
Inflammation and heaviness from hard training blocks
Feeling lighter and less swollen before a wedding, a shoot or an event
Most clients notice less puffiness, a flatter-feeling midsection, lighter legs and a more defined silhouette. Lymphatic drainage is bodywork, not a medical treatment or a weight-loss procedure. It supports the way your body already moves fluid.
Session formats
Face, 45 minutes. Focused drainage for facial puffiness and jawline definition.
Body, 60 minutes. Full-body drainage sequence for bloating, swelling and heaviness.
Face & Body, 90 minutes. The complete session, head to toe.
What to expect at your first session
Every new client completes a Lymphatic Sculpt intake form and liability waiver before the appointment, so we can review your health history, any recent surgeries and what you are hoping to address. The session starts with a short conversation, then moves into the drainage sequence. Drink water afterward and expect to use the restroom more than usual for the rest of the day. That is the work doing its job.
If you are recovering from surgery, please get clearance from your surgeon before booking, and note the date and type of procedure on your intake form.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a regular massage?
A sports or deep tissue massage works into muscle tissue. Lymphatic drainage works just under the skin, where the lymphatic vessels sit, using light rhythmic pressure. They solve different problems and pair well together.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you are working with. Post-surgical clients often come in a series over several weeks, while someone addressing everyday bloating may come monthly. We will talk through a realistic plan at your intake.
Is there anyone who should not get lymphatic drainage?
Yes. Active infection, blood clots, congestive heart failure, kidney conditions and some cancer treatments are reasons to wait or check with your doctor first. Your intake form covers this, and we will flag anything that needs clearance.
